How to Put Ads on Youtube – Youtube Advertising Cost
Find out How you can Put Ads on Youtube step-by-step within this article. I am going to show Youtube Advertising Cost too so that you can run your campaigns safely on budget.
Step to Put Ads on Youtube
There are a couple basic things you must already have in place. First, Youtube Channel. Second, Google Adwords account. If you don’t have both of them, please sign up before proceeding to the next step.
Creating Youtube Channel and Google Adwords actually requires Gmail account. So, go to Gmail, then click on Create an Account => Fill in your details => Verify Your Account
And you are done!
Next..
Go to Youtube => On the top left corner, before the Youtube logo, click on the menu => Click on My Channel.
You can upload your video in the main area. Alternatively, click on the “upload” icon at the top right corner.
Then, simply upload a video you want to put ads on Youtube. Make sure it is set to Public!
Once your video is successfully uploaded onto Youtube, click on the Publish button.
Youtube Ads on Google Adwords
If you have not yet register for Google Adwords account, please complete the signing up process first. It may require your personal details, so no worry.
Once you have signed up, go to Campaign => Select Video (Video Ads on Youtube and across the Web)
Next..1). Name your campaign anything that is related to the video. 2). Tick the ” Standard – Ads driving views, awareness and conversions”.
You may choose either In-stream/video discovery ads or Bumper Ads: 6-second video ads. For more details on the two, click on the question mark icon there!
The Bidding should be Manual: Maximum CPV (Cost Per View)
Budget => How much money you are willing to spend per day. Google Adwords make sure you won’t spend above that budget you have set.
I personally Choose Standard as the Delivery method. Accelerated can drain your budget really fast.
As for the Networks. Youtube Search is better when you are testing the ads. But if you want more reach, then go ahead and tick Youtube Videos as well.
Location.. You should know better on who you are targeting.
Language => What language do your audience speak? Make sure they understand the video.
Devices => You may target Desktop, Tablet, or Mobile independently.
Schedule => Start date, end date for your Youtube Ads campaign.
Frequency capping => I like to set 2 impressions per day, because if the same user have seen my ads twice, and he/she didn’t click it, why bother show them the 3rd time during that day right?
Views => You can set maximum amount of your views. I personally leave it blank.
Click Save and Continue..
Now we are in Ad Group Section.
1). Name Your Ad Group related to the video.
2). Put in the Youtube URL of yours, or search it.
Then select the Video Ad Format..For this example, I am going for In-stream ad.
Insert the display url that you want the Viewers to see. Also the Final url (this is your website/product page)
Pick an image of your choice. Tip: Creating good looking custom thumbnail can appeal viewers to click more!
Give the Ad a name..
Youtube Advertising Cost
Maximum CPV is the Cost Per View you are willing to pay for your Youtube Ads. You may also use the adjustment.
Targeting => You know better on your audience! Also, there are keywords as the target option.
Once done. Click on the next step.
Now you need to link your Adwords account to your Youtube Channel. Just follow the steps given.
Click Finish. And your Youtube ads will be reviewed by Google Adwords team.
Once approved, you should see some data on the main dashboard. 🙂
